Dr. Tammy Oberg De La Garza is comitted to helping teachers make sense of educational research and transform teaching practice. Serving both Chicago Public Schools and Suburban Districts as an educational consultant and leader, Tammy recognizes the need to empower teachers to make decisions about the tools they use and the methods they employ in improving student learning.
Tammy is a Language and Literacy faculty member at Roosevelt University in the College of Education; and the president of Advancced Classroom Strategies - providing professional development for whole school change. She is successful at organizing and presenting workshops, classes and weekend retreats from small groups to 200+ attendees. Blending humor and real-life annecdotes with academic implications, Tammy makes educational research accessible to schools, teachers and students.
